Inter-SEED was born in 2004 out of collaboration between Pembrokeshire Darwin Science Festival on behalf of their parent company Darwin Centre for Biology and Medicine and the Institute of Technology Carlow Ireland.
The project aims to establish a cross-border training network and a culture of cross border research and to plant the SEED of excitement and curiosity in science and technology.
An innovative aspect of the project is the pathway it follows from early learning to post-graduate research and spin-out SME’s.
Pembrokeshire College already has links with both IT Carlow and Darwin. This project has strengthened these links, with the support to Darwin represented by the provision of an office and a designated laboratory at the College. The project will allow Darwin to bring their expertise in public engagement with science to the Irish Interreg area.
